MY EXPERIENCE
Introduction
Having personally experienced both formal and non-formal education, my life experience is finely mixed with lovely memories of my years in a school classroom, and the fulfilling experiences with people and groups around different countries, furthermore the difference that I got to make in all the work I accomplished.
This truly opened my perspectives and made me more determined about how I plan to live my future years in a smarter and personalized approach.
Academic
Education
Voxel School, Madrid
present
I am currently taking a Master in Concept Art, studying with Spanish industry professionals, and comparing my knowledge with fellow digital artists in Madrid.
Academia C10, Madrid
2019/2020
I was a student in the Academia C10, in Madrid.
Studying Digital Art in Spanish, I dove deeper into the subject of Adobe Photoshop, and discovering new drawing techniques and tricks to make my workflow smoother and smarter.
CG Spectrum, Online
2018/2019
I studied the Introduction to Concept Art and Illustration with the Australian Online College CG Spectrum, learning about the fundamentals of ideation and design, and how to express a concept with a simple drawing. Additionally, I had the chance to get a brief introduction to 3D modeling with the well-known software Autodesk Maya.
Studying and confronting myself with an Industry Mentor and many other artists all around the world, not only gave me great confidence with the software Adobe Photoshop, but it also provided me with extremely important knowledge about the industry, and how to successfully take care of my work and future as an artist.
Georg-Büchner-Gymnasium, Winnenden
2016
I frequented the High School of Georg-Büchner in Winnenden, a town close to Stüttgart, for over 3 months as an auditor.
I attended the daily classes like any student, learning about the basic school subjects in German, and providing my help to teachers by arranging and presenting Italian exercises and presentations.
Secondary School Italo Calvino, Torino
2013/2016
I frequented the Italian Secondary School from the age of eleven until the age of thirteen.
I later left public school, becoming a self-learner in every school subject included in my Academic School Program.
In 2016 I successfully presented my final exam and achieved the Italian Secondary Education Certificate, with remarkable marks.
Work
experience
English Teacher, Madrid, Spain
2019/2020
At the end of September 2019, I was officially hired in the "Centro de Estudios Big Bang", as an English teacher.
I gave daily classes from kids whose age varies from five to eleven years old, also switching my methods depending on the level and on the children I mentor.
I was extremely careful to combine fun and alternative ways to learn English with some academic techniques, to always keep the right balance in my classes and let the children relax and learn in a happy state of mind.
Au-Pair, Madrid, Spain
2018/2019
I moved to a town close to Madrid, to au-pair in a lovely Spanish family.
I took care of three siblings, two girls of eight and ten years old, and a smaller boy of five.
For approximately nine months, I looked after them all afternoons, bringing them to their weekly afterschool activities, helping them with homework and organizing activities of all kinds during their free time.
Most importantly, I spoke in English on all possible occasions, which improved their understanding and conversational skills drastically during this period.
While learning the Spanish language myself, I helped with the business of my host family, an afterschool study center for kids and adults, with my first English classes or substituting art teachers.
European Commission Volunteer, Germany
2018
I had the pleasure to be a part of the European project, "The Loved Living Alphabet", which presents a brain-friendly method to teach the alphabet to children.
Open to all languages and cultures, "The Loved Living Alphabet", is based on concrete neuro-didactics studies, which I had the chance to analyze thoroughly during my six months of work.
In the first months, I was in charge of Illustrating and writing.
Later, the project was decided to be presented through video as well, so I had the opportunity to participate as the lead actress, video editor, and director on a few occasions, helping me to practice my video-editing skills with Adobe Premiere and Filmora video editor.
Children Facilitator, Novato, California
2017/2018
I traveled to California to live with a family with two homeschooled girls, eight and ten years old, for three months.
Being a self-learner myself, I had the chance to guide them throughout their educational process, helping them to learn to program their schedule.
I also shared with them some of my art knowledge and video-editing skills, organizing shooting sessions with their friends, creating skits and videos of different kinds, helping them to open up in front of people or a camera and educating them about time management.
Turin representative of Italian Documentary
"Figli della Libertà"
2017
I had the honor to be a part of the making and presentation of the Italian documentary "Figli della Libertà", directed by Lucio Basadonne.
Telling about alternative ways of learning, the documentary presents very diverse and beautiful scenarios for kids to grow and develop their education, without necessarily attending public school.
I had the pleasure to talk about my personal experience, by shooting and editing a video about my time studying in Germany, which was later featured in the "extras" of the documentary.
On the 7th of March 2017, the documentary was projected in the cinema Lux, in Turin, and presented by my sister, a friend of mine and I to an audience of over two hundred people.
International Live interview, Rome
2017
On the 13th of March 2017, I was invited to Rome to be interviewed by Tiziana Panella on the Italian TV channel LA7.
Together with my mother, we talked about my personal experience as a homeschooler and self-learner, and how this change of lifestyle made me a better and happier version of myself, and how I managed to keep my learning routine smart and personalized.
Au-pair, Düsseldorf, Germany
2017
I au-paired for two families in little German towns, taking care of kids with different needs and necessities.
I looked after a four-year-old girl, blind and with a cognitive disability, and her older brother, of eleven years old.
Next, I au-paired for a little boy of three years old, helping the mother with everyday tasks.
With all the kids I took care of, I made sure to practice English naturally and simply, without making them realize they were acquiring the capability of listening and speaking in another language.
Most importantly, it was really important to me to not only be their guardian but also a friend, always having new entertaining activities to do together.
